  • Covenant Care Day Hospice. Commencing 24 October 2011 the Holy Covenant Anglican Church operates this day hospice in Belconnen, ACT for patients who are terminally ill. The Church states that this service comprises “ . ‘a day with a difference’ for those in our community who are terminally ill. Each Monday clients will be collected from their homes at 9.30am and delivered home by 4.00pm. The centre will be staffed by a registered nurse and an activities officer supported by trained volunteers, and is linked to the ACT Home Based Palliative Care Team. As well as giving clients a meaningful and enjoyable experience with activities and lunch, carers will also get a ‘day off’. This is a service provided at ‘no cost’. Clients can be either self referred or referred by a third party .”.
